Privacy Policy — Hyrox Power Race

Last updated: 16 August 2026 · Applies to Hyrox Power Race v1.0 and later.
Includes the optional workout-sync feature — see sections 3, 5, 9 and 10. Sync is off unless you deliberately pair a watch.

This policy applies to Hyrox Power Race — both the free version (5-workout trial) and Hyrox Power Race Pro (they are the same app). Other apps published by BIKINTULIS have their own policies — see the directory.

1. Who we are

BIKINTULIS is an independent developer of Garmin Connect IQ apps. For questions about this policy, use the contact form. (Hyrox Power Race is not affiliated with or endorsed by HYROX / Upsolut Sports AG.)

2. Summary in plain language

  • Hyrox Power Race runs entirely on your watch and makes no network requests — unless you switch on the optional workout sync, which is off until you deliberately pair a watch. See the sync policy and section 5.
  • It reads your heart rate, (optionally) GPS, and — and, while Auto rep count is on, which it is unless you turn it off — the motion sensor, all on the device during a race; those values are processed locally and recorded into the activity.
  • Your settings, race history and personal bests are stored on the watch. The one exception is workout sync: if you switch it on, the workouts you build on the website are stored on our server too, so your watch can download them (sections 5 and 10).
  • Each session is saved as a standard Garmin activity (FIT), which your watch syncs to your own Garmin Connect account just like any built-in workout — under Garmin's own policy (see section 7).
  • It asks for no name, email or account, and contains no advertising or analytics.

3. Permissions this app requests

PermissionWhy
Sensor (motion)Auto rep count — a Settings toggle that is on by default. While it is on and you are on a reps station, the app reads the watch’s accelerometer to detect each rep, and stops the moment you pause or leave that station. The motion samples are turned into a rep count on the watch and discarded; nothing is stored or transmitted. Your heart rate needs no permission at all — it comes from the race your watch is already recording.
Fit / FitContributorRecord the session as a standard Garmin activity with per-segment laps and race stats (reps, station index, type).
Positioning (optional GPS)Measure outdoor-run distance. Used only on the watch and written into the activity; indoors you simply tap to finish a run and no location is used. Never sent to the developer.

The paid version additionally requests Communications, used solely for the optional workout sync described in section 5 — it is exercised only when you press Pair or Sync now, and never otherwise. No other permission is requested.

4. Data stored locally on the watch

  • Your settings (division, gender, Roxzone, theme; language follows the watch).
  • Your race history and personal bests (overall, per station, per run).
  • If you use workout sync, the workouts downloaded from the website — this app has no on-watch builder, so synced workouts appear as a read-only list you can start.

This data stays on the watch and is removed when you uninstall the app.

5. Data sent to a server

Nothing, unless you turn on workout sync. By default the app sends no data off the watch to BIKINTULIS or to any third party. The only data that leaves the watch is the standard Garmin activity (FIT) your watch syncs to your own Garmin Connect account, handled entirely by Garmin (see section 7).

The one exception — optional workout sync. The paid version can download custom workouts you build at bikintulis.de. It is off until you deliberately pair a watch, and it only ever runs when you press Pair or Sync now — never automatically, never during a race. When it does run, the watch sends a random device key generated on the device (not your Garmin ID, not linked to you) and receives your workouts back. It sends no location, no heart rate and no race results. Full detail, including how to delete everything yourself, is in the workout-sync privacy policy.

6. What this app does NOT collect or send

  • No name, email address, phone number, postal address, or account credential.
  • No transmission of your location — any GPS fix is used only on the watch and stored in your activity.
  • No data sent to BIKINTULIS at all, unless you switch on workout sync — and then only a random device key and an identifier saying which Hyrox app is asking, never your location, heart rate or results (see section 5).
  • No advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind.

7. Garmin Connect & your Garmin account

The app runs inside Garmin's Connect IQ platform and records a standard activity. When your watch syncs, that activity goes to your Garmin Connect account — exactly like any built-in workout. Garmin's own collection and use of data is governed by Garmin's policy at garmin.com/privacy. BIKINTULIS has no access to your Garmin account, your activities, or anything synced to Garmin Connect.

8. The bikintulis.de website

Separate from the app, when you use the bikintulis.de website itself:

  • If you leave a comment or review, your name, email, rating and comment text are stored. Your name, rating and comment are published publicly after moderation; your email is never published.
  • If you use the contact form, your name, email, subject and message are stored privately and used to reply to you. If you attach a photo or video (optional, up to 20 MB), it is stored on the BIKINTULIS server alongside the message and only viewable by the site owner via an authenticated admin panel. The attachment is deleted when the message is deleted.
  • Your IP address is stored in our database only as a salted SHA-256 hash (rate-limiting / spam prevention), never in raw form there. Raw IP addresses do appear in the standard web-server access log, as they do on any website; those logs are kept for up to 30 days and are used only for security and troubleshooting.
  • Standard web-server access logs are kept up to 30 days.
  • No third-party analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels. The site sets exactly one cookie in total, and only on the Hyrox workout-builder page if you choose to pair a watch there.

9. Legal basis (GDPR)

With workout sync switched off, the app sends us nothing, and the only personal data we process relates to the website: your consent (when you submit a comment or contact message) and legitimate interest (IP hashes and server logs, used solely to keep the site secure and operational).

If you switch on workout sync, the lawful basis for that is your consent: you choose to pair a watch, and you can withdraw at any time by deleting your synced data (see section 10). What we hold in that case is the randomly generated device key your watch created and the workouts you chose to build — described in section 5.

10. Data retention

  • On the watch: kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Workout sync — only if you paired a watch: your device key and the workouts you built stay on our server until you delete them. Press “Delete this app’s data” on the workout builder and everything we hold for the watch selected there is erased immediately — that one app, not any other Hyrox app you may also have paired in the same browser. We do not delete anything on a timer, so nothing vanishes behind your back.
  • Pairing codes stop working 15 minutes after they are shown, and each code can only be used once. The spent row itself stays in our database until you delete that watch’s data.
  • Website comments: retained while Hyrox Power Race is listed on this site.
  • Contact messages: retained as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted.
  • Server access logs: up to 30 days.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, or delete data we hold, withdraw consent, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. If you never switched on workout sync, this only ever concerns website comments and contact messages. If you did pair a watch, you can erase what we hold for it yourself at any time with “Delete this app’s data” on the workout builder — no request needed. That button covers the watch selected there; if you have paired several Hyrox apps, repeat it for each. We cannot do it from an email — we hold nothing that links a watch to a person, so there is no way for us to find your records; that is the same reason there is no account to recover. To exercise any other right, use the contact form — requests are answered within 30 days.

12. Security

  • With workout sync off, the app makes no network connections at all. With it on, the only traffic is over HTTPS to bikintulis.de, and only when you press Pair or Sync now.
  • Any traffic to the bikintulis.de website is over HTTPS.
  • No payment data is ever handled by BIKINTULIS — purchases go through the Garmin Connect IQ store.

13. Children

Hyrox Power Race is a general-purpose fitness app, is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect any data from them. With workout sync switched off it collects no personal data from anyone; with it on, what we hold is described in section 5.
