Privacy Policy — Simply Reminder

This policy applies to the Simply Reminder Garmin Connect IQ watch face, in both listings: the free Simply Reminder Trial and the paid Simply Reminder. They are the same face and behave identically for privacy. Other apps published by BIKINTULIS have their own policies — see the directory.

1. Who we are

BIKINTULIS is an independent developer of Garmin Connect IQ apps and watch faces. For questions about this policy, use the contact form.

2. Summary in plain language

  • Simply Reminder runs entirely on your watch. It makes no network or web requests and talks to no server — there is no BIKINTULIS server involved.
  • Your message stays on your watch. You type it yourself in Garmin Connect (or on the watch); it is synced only through your own Garmin account and is never sent to us.
  • It requests a single permission — SensorHistory — used only on the watch to draw the body-battery, stress and heart-rate data fields. That history is never stored by us and never sent anywhere.
  • The other values it shows — weather, steps, calories, floors, distance, altitude, battery and so on — are read from the standard information Garmin already provides to watch faces and are displayed only.
  • The free trial's 24-hour timer runs on the watch itself (a first-launch timestamp in local storage) — no server, no account. It has no advertising or analytics.

3. Permissions this watch face requests

Simply Reminder requests a single permission — SensorHistory. It uses this on the device to read your recent body battery, stress and heart-rate history so it can draw those data fields on the face. That history is used only to display those values; it is never written to storage by us, never sent to BIKINTULIS, and never sent anywhere — the face has no networking at all. Both the free Trial and the paid version behave identically.

Simply Reminder does not request internet/communications, and it does not request location or GPS. The other data fields (steps, calories, weather, altitude, and so on) are read through the standard information Garmin already provides to every watch face and need no permission.

4. Data stored locally on the watch

Simply Reminder stores only your settings in Garmin's per-app storage sandbox, accessible only to this watch face:

  • Your message — the text you chose (up to 160 characters).
  • Theme, colours and frame — your chosen theme, the per-element colours, and whether the frame is shown.
  • Data-field choices — which of the sources each of the seven slots shows.
  • On the free Trial only: a first-launch timestamp used to run the 24-hour trial timer.

These settings stay on the watch and are removed when you uninstall the face. The values shown on the face (weather, steps, heart rate, body battery and so on) are read live and displayed only — they are not written to storage.

5. About your message

The message is your text. You enter it in the Simply Reminder settings inside Garmin Connect (or, on watches that support it, in the watch's own Customize menu). Please note that if you choose to write something personal in it — a name, a medication reminder, a note to yourself — that text is stored on your watch like any other setting. It is never transmitted to BIKINTULIS, and we have no way to read it. When you set it from your phone, the value is carried from your phone to your watch by Garmin's own Connect IQ settings mechanism (see section 7), through your own Garmin account — it does not pass through any BIKINTULIS server (there isn't one).

6. Data sent to a server

None. Simply Reminder has no networking code and contacts no server — nothing about you or your watch, including your message and the sensor history it reads, ever leaves the device to BIKINTULIS or any third party. (A future version could add an optional cloud feature; if that ever happens, this policy will be updated before it ships and the change will be described here.)

7. What this watch face does NOT collect or send

  • No name, email address, phone number, postal address, or account credential.
  • No location or GPS data — Simply Reminder does not request or read your position.
  • No transmission of your message, your sensor history, weather, activity or any other data — it displays these on the watch and sends none of it anywhere.
  • No data sent to BIKINTULIS — there is no server contact whatsoever.
  • No advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind.

8. Garmin Connect & your Garmin account

The watch face runs inside Garmin's Connect IQ platform, and your message and settings sync through your own Garmin Connect account exactly like any Connect IQ app's settings. Garmin's own collection and use of data is governed by Garmin's policy at garmin.com/privacy. BIKINTULIS has no access to your Garmin account or its settings.

9. The bikintulis.de website

Separate from the watch face, when you use the bikintulis.de website itself:

  • If you leave a comment or review, your name, email, rating and comment text are stored. Your name, rating and comment are published publicly after moderation; your email is never published.
  • If you use the contact form, your name, email, subject and message are stored privately and used to reply to you. If you attach a photo or video (optional, up to 20 MB), it is stored on the BIKINTULIS server alongside the message and only viewable by the site owner via an authenticated admin panel. The attachment is deleted when the message is deleted.
  • Your IP address is stored in our database only as a salted SHA-256 hash (rate-limiting / spam prevention), never in raw form there. Raw IP addresses do appear in the standard web-server access log, as they do on any website; those logs are kept for up to 30 days and are used only for security and troubleshooting.
  • Standard web-server access logs are kept up to 30 days.
  • No third-party analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels. The site sets exactly one cookie in total, and only on the Hyrox workout-builder page if you choose to pair a watch there.

10. Legal basis (GDPR)

Because the watch face collects and sends nothing to BIKINTULIS, the only personal data we process relates to the website: your consent (when you submit a comment or contact message) and legitimate interest (IP hashes and server logs, used solely to keep the site secure and operational).

11. Data retention

  • On the watch: your message and settings are kept until you uninstall the face. No server copy exists.
  • Website comments: retained while Simply Reminder is listed on this site.
  • Contact messages: retained as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted.
  • Server access logs: up to 30 days.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, or delete data we hold (this only ever concerns website comments/contact messages — the watch face holds nothing on our side), withdraw consent, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any right, use the contact form — requests are answered within 30 days.

13. Security

  • The watch face makes no network connections, so there is no app-to-server traffic to secure.
  • Any traffic to the bikintulis.de website is over HTTPS.
  • No payment data is ever handled by BIKINTULIS — purchases go through the Garmin Connect IQ store.

14. Children

Simply Reminder is a general-purpose watch face, is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect any data from them (indeed, it collects no personal data from anyone — the only text involved is the message you write yourself, which stays on your own devices).

15. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect new features or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest change. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
