Privacy Policy — Work Hours Tracker

1. Who we are

BIKINTULIS is an independent developer of Garmin Connect IQ apps. For questions about this policy, use the contact form.

2. Summary in plain language

  • Sync is optional and opt-in in both apps. If you never open the Sync screen, nothing about you reaches our server. Note that pressing it once is already the start: that alone creates a device record and a pairing code, even if you never type the code into the website.
  • The free app can sync for 24 hours from the first time you open it, so you can try the whole thing before paying. After that it stops sending and asks you to upgrade. Both apps therefore request permission to use the internet.
  • There is no account. No email, no password, no username, no sign-up. Your watch is the identity.
  • What we store is small and deliberate: a random device key generated on your watch, the start and end times you recorded, the time-zone offset that was in force, and short-lived pairing codes.
  • We store no name, no employer, no email, no location, no heart rate and no health or activity data.
  • Your working times do leave your watch — they are stored on our server at bikintulis.de so the website can show and export them. That is the whole point of the feature, and we say it plainly.
  • You can delete everything we hold for a watch yourself, at any time, with one button on the timesheet page.

3. Why this deserves a careful read

When you started and stopped work is information about your employment. We treat it that way. It is stored under a random key that is not linked to your name, your Garmin account or your employer, we never share or sell it, and there is no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking anywhere in this feature.

Two honest limits. First, whoever holds the pairing code during those 15 minutes can connect a browser to that watch — so read the code off your own watch and type it yourself. Second, a browser that has been connected stays connected until you press Disconnect: on a shared computer, disconnect when you are done.

4. What the app sends, and when

The app contacts our server only when you ask it to — when you open the Sync screen and press the button, or when it sends the day up at the moment you end it, if you leave that setting on. It never syncs on a schedule and never in the background. When it does, it sends:

  • a device key — 32 random hex characters generated on your watch the first time you open the feature. It is not your Garmin ID, not a serial number, and is not linked to your Garmin account or to you personally;
  • an app identifier, so the server knows which edition asked — the free one is limited to its 24-hour trial;
  • your work sessions: for each one a start time, an end time, the UTC offset your watch was in, and a flag saying whether the watch closed it automatically because you forgot to stop it.

It does not send, and cannot send, anything else — there is no other data in the app to send.

5. What the website stores

  • the device key, and when it was first paired and last synced;
  • the sessions listed above, plus any correction, manual entry or note you add on the website;
  • your settings: hours per day, hours per week, how night shifts are counted, which day the week starts on;
  • pairing codes, which expire after 15 minutes and can be used once.

A note you type on the website is stored exactly as you type it. Please do not put anything in it you would not want stored — it is a free-text field and we cannot inspect it for you.

6. Cookies

One cookie, wt_dk. It holds the key of the watch (or watches) connected in this browser, cryptographically signed so it cannot be edited to read someone else's timesheet. It is strictly necessary for the feature to work, is not used for analytics or advertising, and is removed when you press Disconnect.

7. How long we keep it

Sessions are kept until you delete them, because a timesheet is only useful if last year's is still there. Pairing codes are retired as soon as they are used or expire. Pressing Erase all my data deletes the device record, every session and the settings for that watch immediately and permanently — there is no backup copy to restore from afterwards.

Your watch keeps its own rolling copy of roughly the most recent 250 sessions, regardless of what the server holds. Deleting the app from the watch deletes that copy.

8. Your rights

Because there is no account, we cannot identify you from a device key alone, and you do not need us in order to exercise your rights: the timesheet page lets you see everything we hold, correct it, export it as CSV or Excel, and delete it. 9. Children

This app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the change will be described here and the date updated.
