Privacy Policy - Home Trainer

Last updated: 15 September 2026 · Applies to Home Trainer Trial and Home Trainer Pro v1.0.0.

1. Summary

  • Home Trainer works locally on the Garmin Edge and makes no network requests.
  • Routes, settings, Trial state, unfinished-ride progress and previous-ride comparison data stay in Garmin application storage on the Edge.
  • The app uses ANT+ FE-C to control a compatible indoor trainer.
  • Completed rides can be saved as Indoor Cycling FIT activities for the user's Garmin ecosystem.
  • The app contains no account, advertising, analytics or tracking software.

2. Information stored on the Edge

Home Trainer can store the selected route, generated indoor routes, route names, Trainer Difficulty, chosen ride fields, unfinished-ride time and distance, local Trial-usage state and previous completed-ride comparison data. These values are used only to restore the app, control the trainer and present the selected route or ghost rider.

3. ANT permission and trainer data

The ANT permission is used to discover and communicate with an ANT+ FE-C indoor trainer. Home Trainer reads trainer data needed for the ride display and sends simulation-grade or resistance commands. This communication is local between the Edge and trainer and is not sent to BIKINTULIS.

4. FIT permission and Garmin Connect

The FIT permission is used to create an Indoor Cycling activity when the rider chooses to finish and save. The saved activity can later be transferred by the Garmin device and Garmin Connect according to the user's Garmin settings. BIKINTULIS does not operate that transfer and does not receive the FIT activity.

5. Location and network access

Home Trainer v1.0.0 does not request GPS or Communications permission. It does not record outdoor routes, download routes, upload routes or connect to bikintulis.de. The 40 bundled road profiles and generated indoor profiles are handled locally.

6. Home Glance

The optional Edge home-screen Glance reads only cached local app state, such as the selected route, Trainer Difficulty, unfinished-ride progress or ended Trial. It does not start trainer discovery, save an activity or make a network request.

7. Trial and Pro editions

Home Trainer Trial and Home Trainer Pro are separate Garmin applications with separate local storage. Trial stores its 24-hour and successfully-saved-ride count locally. Trial data does not transfer automatically to Pro. Reinstalling or clearing app storage may remove routes and ride state and may restart locally stored Trial state, subject to Garmin platform behaviour.

8. Retention and deletion

Generated routes can be renamed or deleted inside Home Trainer Pro. Other local app information remains until it is replaced by later use, the app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Completed FIT activities are controlled through the user's Garmin device and Garmin Connect account. Because BIKINTULIS receives no app data, it cannot restore or delete on-device routes or Garmin activities.

9. Information sent to BIKINTULIS

None. Home Trainer v1.0.0 has no account, server sync, advertising or analytics connection. BIKINTULIS cannot see trainer data, routes, ride metrics, FIT activities, settings, Trial state or device identifiers.

10. Garmin and the Connect IQ Store

Garmin distributes the app, provides the Connect IQ platform and may process saved activities through Garmin Connect. Garmin's processing is governed by Garmin's privacy policy. Purchases and downloads take place through Garmin; BIKINTULIS does not receive payment-card details.

11. The bikintulis.de website

The Home Trainer listing page is separate from the Edge app. Website comments, reviews and contact messages are handled under the general website privacy policy. Visiting the page does not connect the Edge, trainer or Garmin Connect account.

12. Rights and contact

BIKINTULIS holds no Home Trainer app or ride data to access, correct or delete. For website-data requests or app questions, use the contact form.

13. Changes

This policy will be updated before any version with different data handling is released. The date above identifies the latest revision.
